Welcome to Dissecting The Scriptures.  This site is dedicated to the study of scripture and applying it to your life.  As we study scripture, keep in mind the following questions:

  • What is God intending to say in this scripture?
  • Who is the writer and what is the context of the scripture?
  • What does this scripture say about God?
  • What does this scripture say about man?
  • How can I live differently in light of this scripture?
  • Is there anyone in my life that would benefit from what I’ve learned?

God’s message is timeless and does not change according to the culture.  That is why we can apply His word to our lives just as the many generations before us.  His wisdom can be applied to every season, every culture, every generation.

“All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” -2 Tim 3:16,17.

Please feel free to ask questions and comment.  I would love to hear from you.

Blessings to you!

About

This website was formed in 2019 as a way to record and organize the research and study notes from a bible study I formed in 2018.  If you  are the type of person that questions everything, especially as it relates to theology and the bible, then I hope you will find the answers to your questions here. This website is for those who are searching for truth, meaning and for God Himself.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science  degree from Ohio State University in molecular genetics.  Always asking “why” is integral part of who I am as a person and scientist, naturally spilling over into the realms of religion and theology.  The journey that has resulted from questioning and seeking truth has been enjoyable and interesting to say the least.

As you read through the scriptures, genuinely ask God to speak to you.  Expect Him to answer. God loves a humble heart.  When you ask “why” you are admitting you do not have all the answers.  This is the first step toward humility. Ask hard questions and watch for the evidence and answers that God will faithfully supply.  He loves your questions because He loves you.  He wants to have a relationship with you. That is one of the reasons why you were made….to enjoy Him and know Him. And He is so worth it.  He made you and all of creation for His glory.
